FRIENDS! Hello! I am so excited to share some news with you!
After a year of praying about this opportunity, I am so excited to partner with Noonday Collection, a jewelry and accessory company that employs artisans from all over the world and in doing so, creates sustainable change that is transforming lives! Men and women from 11 different countries create beautifully crafted jewelry, scarves, and purses that safeguard families, empower women, create jobs, and long-term relationships.
Here’s why this is a big deal:
The truth about poverty is that many people are not afforded the same opportunities as we are. Where they live and the resources that they have at their disposal, plus the ever-present cultural oppression of the marginalized, are vastly different than the life you and I lead. So, they end up stuck in a cycle of poverty that is almost impossible to get out of.
There are many programs that seek to give people and places “aid”. This may come at a time of disaster relief, or it may be an ongoing program. But the problem with this model is that it doesn’t offer a long-term, sustainable solution that is actually lifting people out of poverty. While all of this takes place with good intentions, this actually ends up doing more harm than good. For example, when bag after bag of rice is delivered to a specific region, it no longer creates a need for people to buy from farmers, because they have what they need for free. The farmer, then, is out of a job, which then trickles down to his kids not being able to attend school, the economy as a whole suffers and it’s a terrible cycle.
Companies like Noonday Collection, who employ artisans to use materials indigenous to their regions, creates jobs that pay a fair wage, and the ripple effect is opportunity. When an artisan uses a specific material to make a piece of Noonday jewelry, it not only gives the artisan a job, but it also helps the supplier of the material, and ultimately affects economies and families in a positive way. These types of jobs create opportunities, give hope, and restore dignity.
Can you imagine, if for the first time in your life, you had a job to go to, work to be proud of, and enough money to put food on your table and send your kids to school?
Here’s What YOU Can Do:
Each piece of jewelry is handmade by these artisans and then sold through trunk shows, or “marketplaces” in homes just like yours or mine. Every artisan and piece has a unique story that I can not wait to share with you! So, that’s what we are going to do. I’m going to share, and we will shop this online marketplace together. To bring gifts, to our friends, give a voice to the voiceless, and bring hope to people all over the world.
Here’s How it Will Work:
Every day, for the next 12 Days, I will be posting a short video (think like 3 minutes) on my Facebook page showcasing a piece of jewelry, yes, but also telling you the personal and uplifting stories of these artisans. You are going to FLIP OUT about the way God is using Noonday to create change, bring hope, and restore dignity.
Here’s the BEST Part:
I will be sharing a link with you on December 1 that will enable you to be able purchase this jewelry to give to loved ones this Christmas. (Or yourself, I won’t tell! I may or may not have just purchased a beaded headband as a stocking stuffer for myself last night.) When you use that link to buy some beautiful jewelry, you will have a chance to win a few perks!
Normally, when you host a trunk show in your home, you get rewards as a hostess that is equates to free jewelry for you! For this specific 12 Days of Christmas show, I am having a mystery hostess, and for every $10 dollars you spend, your name will be entered into a drawing and you could win ALL THE REWARDS! How great is that?
I will also be offering additional ways to be entered to win by sharing the Facebook stories and spreading the word about Noonday!
You buy a piece of jewelry for someone on your Christmas list, you create jobs, send kids to school and restore dignity with said purchase, you get entered to win free jewelry.
YOU HAVE WON AT CHRISTMAS!!
I can’t wait to share these stories with you tomorrow, on my Facebook page! See you then!
Disclaimer: As a Noonday Ambassador, I do receive a small commission for selling this jewelry on behalf of these artisans. Just as anyone who has their own shop, trunk shows are the artisans only way to get the word out there and sell their creations. Noonday does not offer a percentage of sales to artisans, instead, each artisan is given a fair wage for the region in which they live, which ensures that all artisans get a reliable income no matter how many of their pieces sell each season.
12 Days of Noonday will be running from December 1- December 12 at midnight, PST.
